American President

While the news of the supposed confirmed death of Osama Bin Laden is still taking up a lot of space and time in the media, a lot has been said about Obama’s speech regarding the issue. There are people who felt relieved and proud after his speech, while there are others still questioning what the repercussions of the death of Bin Laden will bring. One thing is for sure, Obama is a great public speaker.
Before the ordeal with the death, though, President Obama had made another speech; one that was definitely not as serious and striking, but amusing and somewhat rude to some. Regardless, I think that the speech is definitely one of the best I’ve heard, even if it doesn’t involve serious issues.
President Obama addresses the controversy of his birth certificate, and directs some jabs at a few of his critics in the speech, most notably Donald Trump, he gave at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner last Saturday night. Needless to say, the speech gave me a lot of laughs, and it made me see the President as more laid back in situations that aren’t of important matter. Definitely the opposite form the speech regarding the death of Bin Laden, yet still memorable.

  1. Hey Eydie,

I also had the privilege of watching the correspondent's dinner speech and was blown away! The president was not only funny, but he showed us a different side of him. He showed how cool he was even when people were trying to take shots at him. I feel as if It is hard not to like Obama because of his humanistic qualities. Do you think this is a revolution of some sort for presidents to come?
