Czech Pen Stealing

Think getting caught picking your nose is bad? What if you were caught stealing a pen on national television and you were the president? The Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus was caught on television worldwide taking a beautiful pen during a ceremony with the Chilean President Sebastion Pinera to announce a trade agreement. The citizens of the Czech Republic aren't too pleased as they have kind of been embarrassed worldwide. I surely don't blame them as this makes a national statement about one's country and the kind of people that live in it. President Klaus is already infamous for declining the idea of global warming and being a large eurosceptic. He was caught in a corruption scandal with five million dollars in a Swiss bank account claimed to be from secret donations in 1997. He has already embarrassed the Czech Republic enough. The media worldwide is blowing this up and tons of Youtube parody clips are appearing everywhere which gives the Czech citizens something to grieve about. I personally think that this story is being blown up out of proportion, however it is something quite funny and very obvious. It is unfortunate that it had to happen to Czech citizens. If a globally known and watched president such as Obama was caught doing something similar, we would never hear the end of it. U.S. morals and behaviors would be questioned and ridiculed.
