Playstation Network Compromised

After what might seem like forever to many gamers, the Playstation Online Network remains down for the seventh day following a security breach of user information from their online databases which contained user's credit card information and more. The Playstation Online Network is home to over 70 million gamers worldwide who play Playstation games online head to head or use other services through Sony Gaming Platforms such as Netflix and Hulu. Up until yesterday, Sony had denied reports that their databases had been compromised. This isn't the first time this has happened before oddly enough, but never on such a long week scale. There needs to be better transparency between Sony and it's users who are rarely in "the know" about why the service they pay for is constantly down. Some hardcore activists have taken extreme steps in the past to address many of these transparency issues by breaching Sony's security system such as the group "Anonymous" which claims they are not behind this previous breach. This video shows their response to their recent breach in March in light of features Sony disabled to users. Is it truly ethical to retaliate against a large corporation such as Sony by breaching their security? Should users always be misinformed of what is happening with products they purchase? Nothing seems right when the digital era keeps making determining what is right and wrong a lot harder.
